OUR PROGRAM
Policies
Summer Session Policies:
- Selection Criteria:
- Children must have a diagnosis befitting one of our camper sessions (see schedule). In certain cases, we can accept children with unique medical needs. Please contact us with specific questions.
- The child's illness or condition must interfere with their ability to attend other camps. If your child no longer requires medical care, supervision and/or monitoring and is healthy enough to attend a typical summer camp, please do not submit an application.
- Children must be between the ages of 6 and 16.
- Children must be within four years of active treatment or actively experiencing the challenges of a chronic childhood condition.
- Children must be socially competent, not exhibiting unwanted behaviors which warrant removal from a group activity or setting.
- Return Camper Policy: The number of applications for our summer sessions at Victory Junction increases significantly each year, and we now routinely have waiting lists for each session. We would be thrilled if we could accept every eligible child as a camper but, due to a number of factors, this is not possible. Please understand that to be fair, if all else is equal, the child with fewer summer experiences at Victory Junction will receive preference. This does not mean a child cannot return to camp multiple summers in a row – it just means the more summers a child has attended, the less likely it becomes that they can return again in the future. All applications will be reviewed and considered on an individual basis by our medical and behavioral staff. We encourage you to send in your application as soon as possible.
- Sibling Policy: Any sibling of a current summer camper is eligible to apply for our Sibling Session. Please contact a camper recruiter for more information. Only Siblings are eligible for this session.
Family Weekend Policies:
- Selection Criteria:
- Children or participants in one of Victory Junction’s partner events must have a diagnosis befitting one of our camper sessions (see schedule). In certain cases, we can accept children with unique medical needs. Please contact us with specific questions.

- No age limit for attending family members.
- Return Camper Policy: The number of applications for our family weekends at Victory Junction increases significantly each year, and we now routinely have waiting lists for each weekend. We would be thrilled if we could accept every eligible child as a camper but, due to a number of factors, this is not possible. Please understand that to be fair, if all else is equal, the family with fewer weekend experiences at Victory Junction will receive preference. This does not mean a child cannot return to camp multiple weekends – it just means the more weekends a family has attended, the less likely it becomes that they can return again in the future. All applications will be reviewed and considered on an individual basis by our medical staff and subject to behavioral review. We encourage you to send in your application as soon as possible.
- Supervision Policy: The idea is, “families that play together stay together.” We want to make sure families have the most memorable experience possible at our facility; therefore we ask that each family travel together throughout the weekend. We require that a responsible adult member of your family (i.e. those living with you on your side of the cabin) must accompany any children in your family at all times.
Program Areas
- Michael Waltrip Operation Marathon SportsCenter - This full-size gymnasium offers something for every camper! With a focus on playing, campers can participate in a variety of games from basketball to four squares. The SportsCenter also has a mezzanine level where campers may relax with friends, shoot pool or play ping-pong.
- Silver Theater - The Silver Theater provides campers with an opportunity to dress up in costumes and explore their creative side. Throughout the week campers may participate in skits and role-playing activities in the theater. As the week or weekend draws to a close, the Silver Theater hosts Stage Day, which is a camp-wide showcase of talent and fun. During Stage Day, campers (and/or families) and counselors perform live on stage starring in skits, singing their favorite songs, playing new instruments and much more!
- Arts & Crafts - Campers can create and design memories that will last forever in the Arts & Crafts building. Fun craft projects can be made out of wood in the woodshop, at the art lab or paint room, or out of clay in the pottery area. The sky's the limit! The Arts and Crafts program and projects may be adapted to fit campers’ needs, allowing them to create a piece of camp magic to take home !
- Adam's Race Shop - Adam's Race Shop, which is designed as the No. 45 racecar, is found in the center of Camp. Adam’s Race Shop draws every camper inside for a fun look at the world of NASCAR! Upon entering the building, Victory Junction campers "suit up" in a racing suit and actually strap in to an authentic NASCAR racecar. In this safe and adaptable program area, campers can change a tire, play WII, arcade games and much more.
- Bass Pro Shops Catch, Kiss & Release Marina - From the universally-accessible pontoon boat to canoes, kayaks and paddleboats, every camper can participate in a boating experience on the seven-acre Victory Junction lake. While some campers are boating, others head to the accessible fishing dock to catch a bass, striper or trout. The dock keeps campers out of the sun and fish jumping on their hooks! The fish are trained to keep smiles on the camper's faces with the Catch, Kiss and Release program. If campers prefer not to kiss a fish - not to worry - counselors can do it!
- Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America Water Park - The Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America Water Park is a favorite among summer campers! Campers have the choice to splash around under the victory spray tower or relax as a tube gently carries them around the lazy river, where they can say hello to the numerous Victory Junction lifeguards. The water park also features a splash pad where campers love to spray water at counselors while playing on the motorcycle spray features! First-time bathers can enter a wading pool, which features a zero-entry point. For the enjoyment of all, there is a beach hog motorcycle slide, located in the center of the water park that revs its imaginary engine frequently!
- Adventure - At our "challenge by choice" adventure area, older summer campers can enjoy the thrill of ascending the Alpine Tower, swinging with help from peers on the giant swing or flying gently down the zip line! The state-of-the-art, universally-accessible, 55-foot Alpine Tower can be conquered. Campers that spend much of their time in a chair may easily ascend the tower with help from a pulley system and the highly-trained counselors. Each camper is checked and double-checked for safety both physically, by a medical staff member, and mentally before they take on any adventure programs.
- Archery Range - Aim for a bullseye at our popular archery range. Campers receive instructions, practice, have fun, and are rewarded with the famous “Bullseye dance”.
- Jessie's Horse Power Garage - From llamas to horses, Victory Junction campers enjoy and learn about different types of animals in this program area! A variety of barn-yard activities are offered from specialized pony rides to spending time petting a donkey. Victory Junction campers can experience the unconditional affection of the four-legged friends at Jessie's Horse Power Garage.
- Home Depot Tree House - Towering above Victory Circle, the Home Depot Tree House encompasses both boys' and girls' clubhouses and is the ideal location for nature programs. At night, the Home Depot Tree House is a window to the world, allowing campers to sleep under the stars for the first time.
- Tony Stewart Maze - The Tony Stewart Maze is a magical labyrinth of fun and discovery for all ages. Each day, counselors may rearrange the mobile walls to create a completely new challenge for campers.
- Ashburn/Davis Love Miniature Golf - The Ashburn/Davis Love Miniature Golf course has scored a hole-in-one with Victory Junction campers. Composed of nine holes and adorned with wild caricatures, mini-golf is open for campers day and night
- Jimmie Johnson’s Victory Lanes - Roll in to Jimmie Johnson’s Victory Lanes for an out-of-this-world bowling experience! Jimmie Johnson’s Victory Lanes is fully equipped with four lanes, electronic scoring, music and a full arcade. To accommodate all levels of experience and abilities, Victory Lanes is outfitted with ramps to assist bowlers that wish to push the ball or perfect their aim. Pick up that spare, throw a strike, and get ready for some pin action!
- Kurt Busch Superdome - As the newest addition to Victory Junction’s program area, the Kurt Busch Superdome is an indoor softball field that allows campers to step up to the plate despite skill level. From softball to kick ball, the Superdome empowers children to partake in the ‘Great American Game’ or take on another sporting event all from the comforts of Victory Junction.
- Evening Programs - Evening programs focus on fun and energy by offering various activities designed to release the excitement built up throughout the day. Opening campfire sets the tone for the week, introducing campers to Victory Junction. While watching fun skits and singing campfire songs, campers ease into the camp experience. During NASCARnival Night, campers may win prizes at different games that are set up around Victory Circle. Various NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ pit crews perform actual pit stops for campers and then provide one-on-one instruction to teach campers the art of performing pit stops! Campers that opt for a slower pace may escort counselors to the hot-air balloons that provide tethered balloon rides. No matter what the evening program may be, everyone goes to bed with a smile on their face!
