The following criteria have been established for summer session attendance:

Selection Criteria
- Children must have a diagnosis fitting one of our camper sessions (see schedule). In certain cases, we can accept children with unique medical needs. Please contact us with questions.
- The child's illness or condition must interfere with their ability to attend other camps. If your child no longer requires medical care, supervision and monitoring and is healthy enough to attend a typical summer camp, please do not submit an application.
- Children must be between the ages of 7 and 15.
- Children must have a cognitive level of 6 years or above and be able to function within a group (not need 1:1 behavioral attention).
- Children must be within four years of active treatment or actively experiencing the challenges of a chronic childhood condition
- Children must be able to communicate needs, whether via speech, sign language, or other communication devices.
- Children must be socially competent, not exhibiting unwanted behaviors which warrant removal from a group activity or setting.
We would like to be able to accept every child that applies to Camp, but limited space and certain conditions we cannot effectively manage make this impossible. All applications are subject to a medical review. Decisions are made based on the child's inability to attend an ordinary camp, the severity of the child's medical problems, whether the child has been to Camp before, and other factors (gender, age, etc.). Camp also reserves the right to make selections/decisions based on other factors as deemed appropriate. Please limit your attendance to one of our Association camps.
CAMPER RETURN POLICY
The number of applications for our summer sessions at Victory Junction increases significantly each year, and we now routinely have waiting lists for each week. We would be thrilled if we could enroll every eligible child as a camper, but due to a number of factors this is not possible. Please understand that to be fair, if all else is equal, the child with fewer summer experiences at Victory Junction will receive preference. This does not mean a child cannot return to Camp multiple summers in a row – it just means the more summers a child has already attended, the less likely it becomes that they can return again the next summer. All applications will be carefully reviewed and considered on an individual basis by our medical and program staff. We encourage you to send in your application as soon as possible.
SIBLINGS
Any sibling of a current summer camper is eligible to apply for our Sibling Session. Please contact a camper recruiter for more information. Only Siblings attend this session.
